September 26th to October 11th 2009: We arrived at anchor at Port Denereu Marina just outside of The Hard Rock Café.. The marina is a small shopping center on the harbor outside of Nadi Fiji. We spent 3 days there just so that we could watch Monday night football on Tuesday afternoon at the HRC. Also at the Marina were Tarahumara, Salsa, Son of the Sun, Baghera, Honeymoon, and La Palapa. Last time we saw Tarahumara was in Bora Bora and the last time we saw La Palapa was in Sauwarrow. On September 29th we went to Vuva point to fuel up and then anchored at Lautoka where we had dinner with Trio, Julia Max and Chandrika. September 30th set sail for New Caledonia or Australia depending on weather.
This was a 5 overnighter trip that ended in New Caledonia on Oct. 5th (note: avoided a storm only to get hit by one as we approached Australia). We spent 3 nights at the Port Mosselle Marina. The first day, Tim went up the mast to repair the radio antenna and wind sensor, then we walked over to the McDonalds just because they had free internet. It was our first time at McDonalds since Mexico. The next day we walked around to the other side of the harbor where the beach there was clothing optional.. Lots of tourist there.. yep.. some topless..
We had a great lunch then off to the grocery store where we was soooo happy to find French wine at awesomely low low prices… New Caledonia is a French Providence. On Sept. 8th we hit the fuel dock again for a top off then on our way to AUSTRALIA.
